For most people, asking for help is a big step. Once an individual makes the effort to book their initial appointment, they have already started on their path towards positive change.
Self-referrals are accepted – you can simply phone or email. Alternatively, you may be referred by another regulated health professional such as a medical doctor, social worker, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, chiropractor, massage therapist, or other appropriate health professional.
Before providing psychological services, I would like to learn more about your wants and needs. To help gather this information, you are asked to complete a brief screening form. This screening helps to determine whether I am able to provide you with the appropriate psychological services.
Psychotherapy sessions are for 50 minutes — plus 10 minutes for preparation and documentation.
Please note that OHIP does not cover fees for psychological services. Rates for psychotherapy with Dr. Bonnie Seidman are based on the guidelines set by the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA). For more information, please phone or email to inquire.
Payment for psychological services is made at the end of each appointment and a receipt is issued. Please note that 24-hours notice is required to cancel an appointment without penalty. Appointments canceled less than 24 hours in advance, as well as no-shows will be charged the full regular rate of the psychological service.
If you have extended health insurance, you may be covered for psychological services. You are encouraged to check with your insurance provider to determine your coverage. If you do have insurance coverage, you would pay for your session and submit your receipt to your insurance provider for reimbursement. If you are a Canadian Forces or RCMP Veteran, claims for psychological services are submitted directly to Medavie Blue Cross.
